What is your playing cue?

heres my maximus ultimate 1pc, 18oz, tip 9.2mm, 58inch,

Looks very nice, best looking grain I think on the cues he had in. What is the shaft like stiffness wise and what is the balance?

forgot to mention, its approx 16.5inch balance point and unsure on stiffness. all i can say is its a lot more stiff than my old master cue, i tried the other ultimate stu had that was exactly same design as this one but tip size 9.6mm now that seemed more stiff than this one and i just couldnt pot a ball with it, tried this one and it just felt right. dont know if it doesnt feel as stiff due to the tip being smaller or not im not sure, its something i cant seem to measure.

I think a stiff cue is the point of the Ultimate range but sometimes they can be too stiff and end up lifeless, I guess its a chance you take. Just as well you had the chance to try out the cue first and then chose an alternative, I just hope my lives up to expectations when it finally comes!

have you ordered through stu ? i ordered mine november and received it last month, ordered my case at same time and should be here in the next couple of weeks

Yes I ordered or at least started dicsussions with Stu back in October but it wasn't until mid January before maximus got back in touch with him about the wood I requested. I've posted a pic in the post pics of your cue section. Its on its way but I don't know how long it takes to come from Thailand. I'd hoped it would be here by now but still not heard anything from Stu. Seems like an age I've waited so far....

your welcome. you're right about that one , is indeed a small world. Stu is a Great guy. Everyone's dealing with him. I heard it from my brother. I hope he's right. Anyway not long from now. I hope you enjoy your new cue. Maximus is a Great playing cue.

Better than I hoped it would, I've just got so much more feel when in and around the balls compared to my old cue little screws and stuns seem to take less effort than my old cue, might just be new cue enjoyment but ill see how it goes, or maybe it takes less effort because the tip is smaller than my old cue so I don't have to work as hard, not sure but it feels great.

Need to get it re-finished as the laquer on the butt is annoying me it seems too sticky, this is also after stu ordered them with an oil finish, what they done was just apply a little laquer, stu took a bit of it off in the shop but since playing with it I've realised it all needs coming off, thinking of maybe sending it to a top cue make for a re-finish.

I have bought 2 cues off Stu in the past 6 months first one a 3/4 C2 GBL Then just recently a One peice C4 GBL both awesome cues. Stu is fantastic to deal with especially when I am here in Canada he goes above and beyond to make sure you are getting just what you want and as quick as he can get it done. I am waiting for a message from Stu he has a few new GBL cases coming in and that will be the end of those cases so kind of like a limited addition. They just cost him to much too have made.

Exactly why I decided to get my custom case made through him, 1 piece leather diamond multi colour case with brass corner protectors, if this is his last batch they can only hold their value surely as the next best thing your are paying 100+ more
