      What is your playing cue?

A 3/4 no name plain black ebony butt jointed cue. I suppose you could say its a parris cue as they made a new butt for it, re-spliced it and retapered the shaft. 56 3/4 inches in length 29mm butt 19oz 9.5 tip.

        Cue Craft Tulipwood.
        3/4 - 19oz - 9mm

Filled dents, poor looking grain, untidy re-glued badge coz it fell out.
I play with the flat facing down and although it's an ash cue, the side which is in my vision has little to no grain... which I like.

Any other cue feels foreign in my hand.

Have too many cues from most top cue makers... BUT I always go back to the first cue I've used:
15 years old Handmade cue - Made by Thai cue maker named -Charles.
(he used to work for O'min and then started his own business, but closed it back in 2003).

A year ago, sent the cue to Dave Coutts, he re-finish it and change the joint - made it even better!

The cue is A CRAKER!!! 58" 3/4 at 16" 9.75mm 30.25 butt - Great looking and stiff ash!
Believe it or not, this cue plays, looks and feels just as H&O Green Plate, JP top range etc.
It cost me lots of money to admit that sometimes it's not the name plate but the cue itself!!!

(This cue cost me 100GBP back on 2000) but feels better for me than cues I've paid 500GBP and even more...

I have 2 main cues. The first is a craftsman pro ash 1pc panther cue with a 15.5 balance, which had some work done and rebadged by robin cook. The other is a jp special with the jp traditional design that i got off ebay as a impulse buy, plays great.

Dean, dont know if you noticed, i got your cue posted up on the site. More to come!

EDIT: oh, and the tony ions cue that jrc was selling. now my main playing cue. can't be more pleased.

Thought I'd best post mine. Seen as it was my thread. Lol;-)

For years I've used craftsman. My main playing cue was a snakewood exclusive cue. But due to trouble with my eyes. I'm going up to a bigger tip. Ive got numerous cues I've picked up over the years but never been able to bond with them. Partly because of them being older cues I don't want to mess with. So I've recently invested a lot of money to try find a good playing cue. All bigger tips to 9.3. As that's what I now feel confident in playing with. I've recently taken delivery of The following cues. All brand new made for me.
1 x mac cue from the doctor on here.
                            1 x Andy travis cue
                            2 x Trevor white cues
1 x pro ash by by Dave brown

I will play with all the cues and keep what I think is going to be my playing cue. The rest I will probably loan out to friends and my father. Pete147 will no doubt have one;-). You know what I mean Pete.....
Anyways some photos on my photo bucket. I'll try add more later. When I'm not stuck at €$*%##* work

Btw the MAC cue not in yet but will be soon. Its stiff ash. Just like I like it

                              Mine.

Nothing special to you but VERY special to me. I have friends with Parris cues worth 3 to 4 times as much who have offered me money for it... (its even got a tiny knot in the shaft lol!) Its just a great hitting well balanced cue which I was lucky to get my hands on.

1pc Plain Ebony/Ash 'Paul Morris Designed' WPT cue. Got it off here from jaffajhonson. It's been re-ferruled with a thin walled stainless steel ferrule by Robin Cook and was re-finnished superbly by jaffa. It came with a Wooldridge Supertip and I love it from the first shot played. After the Wooldridge died I put on a Blue diamond Plus and found I actually preferred it (I play 8 ball pool). I had another go with a new Wooldridge but it wasnt for me so I went back the the Diamond plus. Currently trying a softish Elk and liking it, but it's not holding shape well so far. Have to keep re-shaping it so its getting a little thin. Not had this issue with the Diamond plus.

                              9mm tip
                              57"
                              17" balance.
                              17oz.
