Hi there, just getting back into me snooker after not playing for over 10 years(blame golf!:biggrin
I'm playing with my lovely 15 year old handmade/hand spliced(ebony) Britannia 3/4 ash cue which I've kept in my Barracuda Tournament Case(aluminium).
Basic cue specs are 58" long and just over 19oz which I have recently had a base joint fitted buy Robert Osborne and purchased a ebony mini butt & extension from him for it.
I've also been playing around with a lovely silky smooth Smith & Nelson "The Sportsman Cue" maple cue which is 57 1/4" long and just over 19oz which was originally a 1 piece but been converted into a 3/4 cue which is kept in a Cheddar Classics aluminium case.
Would add photos but can't do at mo.

    By the way...great forum guys:encouragement:
    VR Ultimate Limited Edition 1 Piece Ash Cue - 58” | 9mm | 18.9oz | 29.5mm | 18”.
    Long & Short Tele Extensions | 6” & 3” Ebony Mini Butts.
Peradon Blue/Black Patchwork Leather 1 Piece Wide Case.
Century Titanium Ferrule | ADR147 Tip | Taom V10 Chalk.

I Play with a Master Cue classic, not a bad cue better than my last one, i like the ash Grain and the feel. not too special but plays extremely well.
i am looking to try a trevor White in the future, however i will have to wait a bit because i can't afford one, plus i don't think i deserve one the way i'm playing at the moment.

Well that will work in your favor.. After you order one from Trevor.. The wait will give you the time and space you need to save up!

I play 8ball mostly, my pool cue is a custom made connoisseur replica with cocobolo instead of rosewood on the bottom splices made by mastercraft cues. 8.8mm tip, 3/4 jointed at 16" through the ebony points, 17.5oz, 57" length and a 29.5mm butt with a mini butt and custom badge. My snooker cue is a barracuda kirkham cue, 3/4 jointed at 15" 9.75mm tip, 57" length and 19oz

                What is your playing cue?

I play with a cuecraft cue, I really love it. All that people with JP cues and other expensive but really good cue makers. I always think: It's not the better the cue the better you play, but it's the one who is holding it. I mean, Stephen Hendry won his 7 world titles with a £40 warped maple cue!

Yes but what if you try a Parris and find its better than your cue craft? You see the thing with cues is you always have it in your mind that there might be a better cue to suit your game out there, which is why so many members on here and players in general buy cues all the time. Its down to luck at the end of the day that you find the right cue for you, the brand of the cue doesn't really matter but you use a cue craft so naturally you will endorse them because you like that cue. Cue craft are hardly cheapo end of the market stuff though, some of their cues retail at over £300 or used to a few years back.

Yes, you're right. When I bought my cue, I said to the seller that I wanted a cue that really fits me. So I picked op cues and started playing with it, I also tried the expensive ones and cheap ones (not that my cue is a really cheap one though), but the one I have now really fits me and I thought this was the perfect match!
I do understand that JP cues are the best on the market and if you have money (and you live nearby (I live in the Netherlands)) that you are going for a JP cue. I'm really happy with my cue and I think that is the most important, I just wanted to say that it's not all about the brand but it's about the feeling that you have with your cue whether it's 150 pounds or 800 pounds.

Just ordered a Phoenix Machine Spliced. Am looking forward to its arrival. I realise it's not as nice as some mentioned here, but it fits my budget.

                        How do you realize this?

                            In reply to Raldon:

Allow me to re-phrase: I know that most experts consider hand spliced cues that in a higher price brackets to be superior to the cue I've bought. There are plenty of posts suggesting that.

That said, I take the point that you're suggesting. I don't know that those other cues would be better for me particularly.
