"Maybe" but I was told he has 300+ orders. This is what's made me change to a 3/4, plus it's better for transporting on the motorbike.
Iwish John would be more open and tell you where you are on the list. All I can get out of him is to keep checking the order to see if it changes to in progress???

I'll only start pestering him once its near the 12 month stage since my order. After all 12 months seems to be the minimum waiting time according to the website on 1pc cues. It won't hurt to give him a nudge, though too much and they might not select the best shaft possible as they will just select one that will do, just to get your cue out to you in time.

I'm 3 months into my JPU cue wait.. I have ordered a 3/4 so hopefully I'll have a shorter waiting time..I see the lead times have changed for 1pcs from 50 to 52 weeks to 12 to 18 months!!.

Take my advice, don't change your order and just wait it out. Better off in the long run instead of compromising to get it quicker.

probably right narl, but I was thinking of changing to a 3/4 any way and I fancy giving maple another go.

So you have gone from a one piece ash (most desirable i would say) to a 3/4 ash, to a 3/4 maple !!! I think you don't know what you want lol, big decision spending that much money on a cue, best to take a deep breath and think carefully mate

Yup, at the minute he just seems to want to get it ASAP, understandable but it could be a decision he ends up regretting as he's juggling ideas around and second guessing initial choices. IMO best to stick with the first order and leave it at that :snooker:

Peter mucka here is my 2 p advise ... if you have a cue to play with at the moment stick with your original order of a 1 pc ultimate and visa versa as i reckon it will be well worth it in the end.

                          • You are all right to some degree, but I have changed to a 3/4 for practical reasons IE carrying the cue on the bike.
The reason for the change to maple is not just to speed up the order either, I have decided to ditch the DH grip and go back to my natural grip with is harder to get the cue chevrons facing perfectly up all the time. So I just thought take the chevrons out of the picture all together and it's one less thing to worry about.
Oh and I want the cue yesterday FFS lol

                            • Maple feels totally different to Ash and therefore you may not like it at all.

It's unusual to find a player who switches from one to the other. Plenty try it out but most go back to their first love. So if you normally play with Ash and always have done, getting a Maple is a big gamble, especially on a cue with such a long waiting time.

And I speak from personal experience. I've always played with Ash but I waited 9 months for a custom made Maple cue to my specs from a top cue maker but I just didn't like the feel of Maple so had to sell it on.

                              • You've gone to maple now??!?!?!?! Aswell as 3/4?!?!??!

An Ultimate is exactly that, the ULTIMATE. Anything but Ash 1 piece to me is not ultimate. Fair enough if you've used maple all your life but your an ash man arent you?

All i'll say is best of luck!
