Alternative to an SD jiont

In all seriousness, there isnt any real alternative to an SD joint although Mike Wooldridge butt joins are a much nicer and more 'engineered' option.

What I was implying is that if you really dont like them that much just get better at using one of these!

cazmac1: The F1 joins are really well designed and look far better than the usual threaded brass insert's.

It's not really such a big deal for me other wise I would just get John to put one in. I think I'm Ok with the rest too, I'm just exploring the possibility's and merely saying that if I was going to put one in it would have to be very Light. Anyone know the difference in weight between Johns and mike's joint.
