  • 3/4-butt Cues For Sale

I have decided to try and sell all the extra cues I have here. In order to get rid of them I am selling them at less than I paid for them as they aren't doing anyone any good just sitting around. Payment via paypal only in Canadian dollars please (1GBP = $1.60(CAN) approx). Shipping will be extra. All these cues are 3/4-butt, absolutely straight and have ultra-smooth shafts. I will be posting my 1pc cues shortly.

From the 1st photo the specs left to right are (new photo-that's the camera strap hanging down):
    1. Buffalo, ash/ebony, 1 splice, 3 veneers, 57", 9.5mm, 18.7oz, butt diameter 29.1mm, balanced at 18" - $200
    2. RG (Ron Grayson from Sheffield) ash/ebony, 57", 9.5mm, 20oz, 29mm, 17", 2 extensions - $350
    3. MAC, ash/ebony, 57", 9.5mm, 18.4oz, 29mm, 17", mini-butt - $350
    4. JP Classic, ash/ebony, 57.25", 9.4mm, 18.2oz, 29.7mm, balanced at 16.75" - $400 (I have found in my spare parts a new tele-extension which fits this cue and also a little crappy mini-butt which I'll include both for $450)
    5. 'C' (unclevit) maple/ebony, 8 splices, (Peradon Joe Davis Copy), 56.75", 9.5mm, 18.2oz, 29mm, 17", 2 extensions - $200
    6. Wright (from Hull?), maple/ebony with 4 tulipwood splices, 58", 9.5mm, 17.7oz, 29mm, balanced at 18", 2 extensions - $350

If anyone wants further details please email me at - terrydavidson45(at)gmail(dot)com -.

If you haven't heard of 'RG Cues' they are made by Ron Grayson who is teaching Jim Evens (JAWES Cues) and Ron has been making cues for over 20 years and was quite a player in his time, was once Sheffield City Champ.

I guess I should add 'all reasonable offers will be considered' and I'm willing to subsidize the shipping costs a bit for overseas buyers.

Yes, it has the brass screw in the middle but wood-to-wood on the outside. It's a very solid joint. That cue is prices really low and comes with 2 extensions

I got the cue from a player/collector from Toronto, but I think he bought it from pete.147 (maybe). It does play well but isn't my cup of tea at 58".

I'm quite surprised no one has snapped up the JP Classic at around 240GBP + shipping which takes it to around 300GBP. I've seen the same cues on here for 350 and upwards. This one is not new although I don't know how old it is. Very straight with an ultra-smooth shaft.

As it says in the original post, 2 ext means a tele-extension plus a mini-butt. So the Buffalo and the JP Classic do not have extensions with them but all the others have 2 extensions which are included in the price listed

Make me a reasonable offer and I'll consider it although the cue has already been reduced by $150 from what I paid for it. Or we could do a time payment thing in 4 payments or something. The cue comes with 2 extensions and is a real solid hitter.

Just an update. For overseas buyers I'm willing to subsidize the shipping costs a bit to help out. I know it's terribly expensive to ship from Canada and those costs just kill any potential sales so I will try and keep the shipping costs below around 60pounds to Europe and 70pounds to the Far East or in $CAN, that would be less than $100 for Europe and around $120 for the rest of the world.

I am anxious to get rid of a lot of these cues and I'm not really in the business to make any profit (although that would be nice) but these cues are not doing anyone any good just sitting in cases here at my facility.

Just a note on the JP Classic. It has a butt socket but it also has the reddish glue on the ebony points so I believe this one is a little older, probably from the time when JP started doing butt sockets instead of the long butt which my own 1980's JP had.

It's very straight, with an ultra-smooth shaft which I have oiled and it feels like velvet on the bridge. It has lots of power and also has good control when in the balls but long potting is still accurate with it.

At less than 240GBP I think it's a real steal for someone and I am willing to consider any reasonable offer. This type of older JP Classic is normally priced in the 300-350GBP range so I am quite a bit under the going market rate.

Weird...I've sold 3 of the 1pc cues in a couple of days but NONE of these 3/4-butt ones. I'm going to take a look at the prices and see if there's anything I can do without taking TOO much of a loss
