I brought 4 . 3 of them cracked. I got one refunded. Mine 12 splices cracked twice. He fixed for me for free at the first time. But he charged me for the second time. The cue is brand new and I never used cuz I have many better cues.
My 4 of my friend cues cracked.

I return the cracked cue to Richard he refinish it and sold it to a customer for brand new price.

Terry and Hotpot. You guys are well known member on here so he will do his best to keep you happy and build up his reputation .

But for no TSF members he sometimes doesn't tell truth.
You and your friends have bought over a dozen Aurora cues so when exactly did you find out you wer,nt happy with them or the service . It must have been the last one or two or you or your friends would,nt have kept buying off them , bearing in mind that each cue makes a while to make .

Seems strange that you could be so unhappy about a product but kept buying again n again.

I hope Airin gets well soon and clears this all up, I am sure that he will be quite upset with all of this, I have had dealings with Airin and all top notch, if I know anything from his posts and dealings, is that he is proud of his work and reputation and will not take kindly to this slander.
        Cheers,
I try hard, play hard and dont always succeed, at first.!!!!:snooker:

I brought cues from him in 2010. I ordered most my cues in 2010. And i didn't order from him. i brought a snake wood/burr from him which he have in stock and i wanted a fance cue so i orderd a 12 splices cue from him. the third one is a sinbin maple . i do not play maple but he said he has old groth maple so i brought it.

my friend unlike me they only want a cue to play with alsways have some stock cues before. and my friend brought those cues wihch most of them are poor quility. and don't want to spend to much and wait. aurora cues are cheap compare to my other cues so my friend went to him. but my friend waited like 2 years for his order.

So you and your friends expect top quality from the reject stock? I've bought a few of those for myself and students and only ever had one problem with one of the maple ones and Airin fixed it right away, paying postage both ways. I've only ever received top quality cues from Aurora.

Given the price difference between the 2, is it really fair to compare an Aurora cue to a Mike Wooldridge or a JP Ultimate? If Airin promised to make you a top quality cue and charged you $2,000(CAN) for it I'm sure you would get a top quality cue worth the money (if Airin thought he was capable of delivering).

I'm sure you've done enough damage in your repeated posts. Let's give it a rest and see what Airin has to say about it. I'm pretty sure there's two sides to the story.

              terry.

the cues we brought are not reject cues. we paid the full price only a maple one is a reject on that one is only 350.
the rest are the regular cues he have. he made 3 12 splices cue for me and i picked the best one from the three.
the retail is 1200. but i think it doesn'e worse it.

you 12 spllices cue is one cue he made for my friedn. he also tried all 3 of them and picked the best one. he sold the rest to other people.

Richard told me that his work is MW quility at lower price which i really really don't think so.

he sold Johnny a case and never send it. but he told johnny he sent it and shipping company lost it. he then refund the money to johnny. he is actully sold the case to me as the shipping is too high than he expect to ship to johnny. \

he said he made 2 black one piece algator case. the truth is he only made one. he didn't send to johnny.

then he took the wax stamp off and put a new one on also he put my name plate in the case.
but i compare the case to his facebook pictures the grain print on the leather is defently same case.
i contact johnny he is never got the case.

you had good experince with him. doesn't mean everyone else.

why don't you call him out let him explain?

i have all the emails to prove what i said.

i do belive what you said are ture. but you got know the real person and other people saying. \

why don't you call Richard/airin to see what is the real shory?

are they sick at the same time for 3 months?

Richard said he had cancer before when he making pool cues. how about this time??

                  oh dear...

this forum has a history of 'new/old' cue makers appearing and disappearing.

after a few 'satisfied' customers, time reveals the unlucky ones who lose/waste their money.

using the forum as an advertising tool, and doing business via pms should be banned, cos it's far too easy to dupe gullible forum members who get get carried away in the euphoria of numerous exaggerated claims and general misrepresentation of products and quality.

i don't know one way or the other what the situation actually is here, i'm just saying this looks like an all too familiar story.

would be a pleasant surprise if it turned out to not be the case.

are you reading this airin/richard? your side of the story is needed...

Yes, I did not receive any case from him and I have already paid for the case long time ago. I understand a guy brought a stock cue recently from Aurora cue and received it in Singapore. Airin or Richard, please come out to clarify the issues, and we still need to hear from you either a good cue or a refund.

                      did he? certainly wasn't me.

that was never revealed during all the time he posted here? something i'm sure would have been advantageous to publicise?

in fact, i'm surprised people seem to have forgotten that poolqjunkie appeared on this forum and asked many many many questions over a long period of time regarding cues and cue making in general.

and then he started making cues. and tips. and oil.

to me it was clearly a case of gleaning as much information as possible and finding out exactly how to do certain things.

he researched and learnt everything he could find out from people on here, then put into that into practise with a ready made 'trusting' customer base made up of friends/acquaintances developed on this very forum.

nothing wrong with that at all. it's an excellent business model, played out to perfection, and deserves a great deal of credit.

but it's definitely news to me that he worked with a UK cue maker. a fact i'm sure he would have mentioned in one of the numerous email conversations i had with him at some point.

whatever, or however, i think he did really well to build his snooker cue business using this forum. a lesson in slick business building.

At last somebody that knows how to make a cue speaks, words of wisdom from the cuefather , what mike is saying is so true a lot of members have become master cuemakers after 3-6 cues, put up a flash website and they think everything is tops.... to become skilled in any profession takes years not months.....

MikeW I wonder if he actually made any money out of his venture? As you know he would have had a lot of costs...lathe etc etc and spent money on a slick website. Not sure how many cues he would have to sell to get a return on his investment. Fair play to the guy tho. He gave it a go and from what I've read the cues were ok. BTW I bought one of his cloths for £8.50 cos I thought they looked nice on the website. Waste of money.

I have been in contact with Airin/Richard and we are currently sorting my situation.
What I can establish is that he(they, whichever it is) has been seriously ill undergoing major surgery. I will update this when I have reached a conclusion on my situation.

Superman32, can u pm me airin/Richards telephone number.

I really like the cue cloths . Fit neatly in my case and really make the cue feel smooth.

I'd have to a agree with you there Neil, I really like those cloths as well..... But like everything that is made they are all subjective what is good one person isn't always good for another.....

I'd have to say all the dealings I've had with Airin/Richard whichever one it was has been very good quick response to my emails and very helpful......

Like everybody has said there is always two sides to every story hopefully Airin/Richard will be able to post a reply up soon so we can hear it....
