  • Tony Wilshaw Cue

    Hi all

I'm no expert on cues but I have nice Tony Wilshaw cue which I spent just a shade under £300 pounds on 2nd hand. I really like it but can anybody give me an idea on whether the shaft is a nice shaft? I hear a lot on nice straight chevrons, nice markings but I haven't got a major clue on whether the shaft is a good one.

    Thanks all

It's all down to opinion. Some like chevrons pointing towards tip some prefer them towards the butt. Some prefer maple over ash. Some may even prefer the chevrons to be on the underside of the cue. It's all personal preference really as it's just a visual matter. The feel of the wood is more important when it comes to being a 'better' cue. Although some people might prefer a cheaply made cue as they've used it all their lives and wouldn't dream of changing it. Cues are more of a personal thing so if you like it then it is a good shaft for you.

mate looks are not really important a cue could look like a million dollars and play like a dog.

Yeah I know. I really like the cue and enjoy playing with it. It's not an issue of the look isn't nice and I'm not going to use it. It's more out of interest

Although it's hard to see from the pictures, it looks to me like a shaft which would generally be categorised as a 'nice shaft' :snooker:

Tony makes great cues really under rated!
Just got my second cue from him one piece though
