As per Stamford Cues Price catalogue:
    [quote]
    "Series 2
Our Series 2 range of cues is hand made from ash and maple. The ash and maple is hand selected by ourselves at source and is left to settle before and at every stage of the tapering process. After the shaft has been tapered down through several stages, the butt is hand spliced to form the cue and is worked to the final measurements. Our unique combination of oils is applied to the cue to leave a silky smooth finish ideal to protect the wood and glide through the hand.
    Series 1
As with Series 2, the Series 1 range of cues are hand made to the highest possible standards. The ash and maple used for the shaft is chosen for its feel, balance and strength. The grain is of the utmost quality and with outstanding uniformity to ensure the cue not only plays exceptional but looks magnificent. The butt is hand spliced with the best exotic timbers from around the world and, in its final stages; the unique finish is applied to leave a cue that is the definition of fine craftsmanship.
