I think you should take a chance and have a nice long sit-down with a pro and expound on the physics of snooker. I'd be willing to bet not a lot of pros even think about these things and you'd see that 'far-away' look in his eyes. There is a point where over-thinking on the set-up, technique, dominant eye, cue, balls, cloth, tables, etc etc is more harmful than anything else.
As I said to you before, pick a set-up and technique that you're comfortable with and then STICK WITH IT! And don't worry about anything else (that's if you want to improve at all).
