  • Where are our cues Trevor?

    Hi everyone,

I've ordered totally 4cues from trevor since last year may which is 14months ago. After a long wait i finally got told that cues are ready 2weeks ago. Money's paid straight away. Trevor's disapeared again. Can anyone tell me how can I find him? It's getting really frustrated guys, 14months can you believe it? Jesus.

I'm not surprised you're frustrated but Trevor is a one man band and very much in demand so waiting times are extremely long. Try giving him a call and although its hard try and be patient. I'm sure the cues you get will be worth the wait

Hey guys I know exactly what u guys trying to say and I do believe that. However 3 of the cues are for my friends, they took my words and trusted in me to place the order, then pay trevor all the money. Can u guys teach me how to say to them??? I trust trevor as this is not the first time i order cue from him, but my friends relied on my advise to place the order, now turned out to be such a mess. Well I hope that i can receive them very soon. fingers cross!!!!

          d.yau:

I don't think Trevor is any different from any of the great cuemakers out there. With MW the wait for a custom cue may be 8-10 months, Dave Coutts says right on his site it's around 12 months, some people have waited 18 months for a JP Ultimate. Robin Cook is probably at least over 4 months, as it Tony Wilshaw and any of the others.

If Trevor said he will ship in two weeks he may be a little delayed but the cue is likely on it's way. What I would do is email Trevor and ask him for the tracking number and the name of the courier company and that way you can check the progress of the shipment.

I've never had a problem contacting Trevor and I've always found him helpful and accommodating to the point where he drove down to the SWSA (not sure how far from his house) and picked up my cue, took it back for some modifications and a re-finish and sent it out to me a day later. It might be some quick modification orders have come in and he has decided to get those out of the way.

I am in a similar situation. Last Christmas, I sent my cue to Trevor to correct a glue line crack, around mid April I got a reply from him saying that the cue will be sent back to me in a week's time. Since then, never heard of him again. I have been sending him emails every 3 weeks, hoping to get a status of my cue, but nothing happened, not even a single reply.

Till now, I am still in the dark about everything, I don't know whether the cue was lost in shipping, was not fixed yet, or Trevor had simply given up on my "case". It's been 7 months (for a glue line crack?), and the frustration has been building up. Come on! At least give me a reply.

              Hi Terry,

I've sent him an email early this week asking if he's sent the cues yet but no reply. I will try one more email now hopefully he will reply. But I just want to make one thing clear that I trust trevor 100% but I can't force my friends to do so. What I am saying is Trevor is indirectly, or unintentionally putting me into a really bad position. You understand what I mean?

Like many other ppl on this forum who have done business with Trevor will tell you... he's a one man band and does all his own work! God only knows the number of emails he has to sift thru daily just to get to yours. It's happened to me as well.. but you just have to remain patient.

Speaking from experience, Trevor WILL get back to you. Just hang in there and keep the faith.

Sorry guys but a few words cost nothing, have said it before and will say it again.. his customer service is ****e... that's not hearsay, it's personal experience too, since he took my money and forgot to actually send me what I paid for 3 months later...

Even if Trevor has 200 orders on the go, it woud take bugger all time to send them all an email a month with a status update - no excuses, its pure lazyness, he's not working 24 hours a day.

I've never had dealings with Trevor but I object to your last paragraph ... "pure laziness" ... I guess he focuses on making the best cues he can and that's what he enjoys ...

I suspect the reality is he works 8 or more hours a day working really hard and really concentrating on producing the finest cues he can - he's knackered, he logs onto his computer and there's 200 new emails plus loads from previous days - it'd take him hours to reply so they have to wait until tomorrow (and tomorrow after that etc) ...

I don't know but he also may have a wife and 2.4 kids who want to spend some time with him ...

is that "pure laziness" ... no, of course it isn't ... I have been a member of TSF for about 8 years and I really don't remember reading anyone ever criticising the quality of his work - that's his extreme dedication and should be admired ...

ok, he could be organised better ... he could have an auto-responder on his email address which says "I'm very busy making cues at the moment, I'll be in touch when your one is ready" ...

But these are genuine concerns and these people and have waisted the most valuable thing TIME.
-14 months wait and and no reply
-7 months wait for glue line crack repair and still waiting for his cue back.

I can't understand why someone should wait decades for a cue and waste so much time, there so many top quality cues available in stock why not try them out and pick one that suits you.
Any well finished handmade cue which has the right rigidity and density to play all shots should be as good as any cue.
It's better to try out few cues and pick one that suits you rather then wait for an year or more for the cue to be made and in some cases people can't get used to them at all and sell them.Nothing worse then that.

I hope Trev dont mind me saying but he has spent quite a lot of time repairing cues that are not his own , some relatively new . This takes up a lot of his time and its something he is not going to do from now on .
I also know that when he,s not weaving his magic wands he,s extremely busy doing various projects . I can vouch for that cause i,ve seen him a few times and he looked absolutely shattered .

I hope he does,nt mind me saying this but i,m just trying to make members aware that he is very busy and not just on the cue side of things , i suppose that is just the tip of the iceberg , kids , mrs etc etc .

Hi Guys, thank you for all your suggestion. Trevor just sent me an email with tracking no. As what i've said before i always trust in him but i do agree that he needs someone to organise things for him. However i also understand that on the other side of the coin it is hard to get someone to work as good as himself, well let us wish him the best haha!

Yeah, I can vouch for similar Hotpot. Trev advised me the other day he was unable to take a non TW cue
off me to take a look and reset the joint. I don't blame him going down this route and concentrating on making
                              his own brand of cues!

I recommend Trevor White's cues to anyone. Please do not be put off by some of the responses here. You just have to remain patient and calm ( not ez I know ).
