Hanging cues guarantees warp-free cues?

I hang mine from a hook in it's soft case. I left my 8 yr old BCE cheapo cue leaning against a wall for that entire time, used it once 8 years ago. Just took it out, no warping.
I worked in a music store for many years, this included hundreds of expensive vintage guitars.
Many hadn't seen the light of day in decades, some warped, some didn't.
I think it depends on the wood and environment.
But I don't think a "Just in case" attitude could do any harm lol.Long days and pleasant nights.

the reason i was asking is that i have more cues than cases.
rather than getting a case. i was thinking of building a cue hanging rack with an ikea CD stand. something like this: http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/07305310/
and remove the dividers and install hooks to it to hang the cues instead.See new updates: http://cueporn.tumblr.com/

A cue that I bought 6 months ago and really like seemed to warp noticeably the day after I left it in a locker at the local pool hall.
Fortunately it's still straight with the flat up and I don't know if I'm imaging this, but I seem to be playing better than ever with it. I'm getting loads more response and feel now.Tear up that manure-fed astroturf!
