    Very nice looking cocobolo.
Also the chamfer (flat) looks quite long.
    Up the TSF! :snooker:

Some beautifully figured cocobolo there. The base of the cue looks unusually flat, is that something JH asked for specifically?

That is one good looking piece of cocobolo would be an understatement. Stunning. The sort of figured wood I would like on my cue... (hint hint, nudge nudge)...

Damien, Are you referring to the cues being made.?

The whole cue is exactly as he asked, and yes, it was very specific.

can't understand all the interest in what JH wanted in his new cue,how much he paid or if he did pay, or the pressure on Trev to come clean, i would be more interested in why he as decided on a different cue.

                    @ flame..

Me neither truth be told, but I guess it's a point of interest for those into this game.

We discussed at length the reasons behind the change, but I would rather not go into that here, as it was between John and myself in private conversation, even though I'm sure he'd have no objections to airing it himself as it's not a secret. Many players do similar things, and often for pretty much the same reasons.... i.e.... loss, damage or other spec related issue with their current cue, not happy for any other reason with their current cue, fresh impetus with different cue, simply fancying a change of cue, etc etc etc.

There doesn't really have to be a reason in some cases. Professional players are people just like the rest of us and are susceptible to all the same forces and issues anyone else experiences. We only need to look at this website to see some incredible cue swapping going on. It's done for all sorts of reasons, some perhaps more rational than others.

Because he's a notorious fiddler when it comes to cues would be my guess.

i only mentioned the change of cue because it may well be that a change is needed as we get older, reason i say this, our stature changes our strength changes our suppleness changes, just wish i could tell the difference.

Oh no, I was just jesting... still standing by my choice of woods. I'm sure they will turn out just as brilliant.

The cocobolo looks real fine though. You must've had a tough time sourcing for it.

Really nice work on the cue.

People have said in the past that JH uses a 26mm butt. Maybe it's the angle of the pictures, but that cue looks thicker than 26mm?

Kudos to you for the effort and help so we can all marvel at JH's new cue. The long flat is really something unique.
