birds eye maple

Looking to order a new cue and just thinking of a design for the butt. I would like to know whether birds eye maple changes color over use or does the nice light color hold up for many years? I'm also looking at olive wood but I know the color darkens after long use. Also would any body have pics of butts in these designs?

birds eye maple finished with danish oil would stay whitish for a long time
