Both, I've had a few cues from both of these cue makers and would recommend them both, despite what a lot of ppl say about John on this forum his cues are still made to a high standard. But if it is pound for pound value then it would have to be TW. Of course it still comes down to pot luck if when the cue is made it suits you.

I Have both, It's a hard one to call. 1pc JPU(821) and a Trevor White, My TW is JPU standard:snooker:

It seems to me that a lot of cue makers are making cues to just about the highest standard possible. It then comes down to value, and as cazmac says, if you can get on with the cue, no two bits of timber play the same, even it they look identical. There are many names we could mention who are the equal of Trev and John, and Trev would be the first to agree, being a modest man (!). Folk like Trev and Robin Cook offer terrific value so all things being equal, these are the best cue makers, because they offer the same standard, for a lot less.
