I don't really see that big a problem paying more for brand name or good reputation. People pay over the good for Mercedes etc when a cheaper Bmw maybe a better car. Or people go for more expensive Chanel over better made Louis Vuitton. I think this can be observed in all aspects of life so why be slated for choosing a John Parris over a Trevor White???

Yeah, with you on that one ADR. My girlfriend ( of a few years back ), wanted a LV.. you ain't kidding m8. Had to do a couple of days OT to get back on an even keel LOL.

If you really want a Trev, I'd get one soon, because I really believe he's going to be the next John Parris. Prices will only go in one direction as his fame grows.

Johns cues don't come close to Trevs work, maybe the odd one or 2 now and then are on par but on par consistently, NARRRRRRR.....def not.

The CONSISTENCY of work from john just int the same as the consistency of trev, that's what you get having a 'workforce' and more than one person working on cues i guess....

Trev over john EVERYTIME.

I think Trevor would be embarrassed at some of the replies on this thread. Trevor has nothing but respect for JP so unless he has changed his view I think he would disagree with a lot that said. If any one has example's of JP's apparently poor quality cue's please post pictures so that we can all be so well informed?

The problem for me with Parris cues is that the standard taper is just a bit too thick for my taste resulting in a stiffer flex on the shaft. I've seen a few with uneven splice work too.

Still, I always maintain that the best cue I played with and never owned was a John Parris cue.

I've had frames with hundreds of cues and Norman Dagley's had a Parris one piece cue that I really liked.

Got to play with it before and again after his death. It just felt great when I was playing with it. Not even the most decorative cue, far from a show piece but it really hit well.
