My Cue had a slight 'accident... is fixing it an issue?'

I think the pictures explain the issue pretty well

I have all the pieces except for 1 small bit... there is also an additional crack as well as the bits that broke off.

Is it worth fixing?
What would someone charge for a professional job?
Would it ever be the same again?

I hope you guys can see these images?...

missed a black of the spot eh! - might be easier just to get a new butt made.

It might be possible to repair the cue as it is. If not having the butt lengthened, re-weighted, and replace the joint further down past the splits and match the taper with the shaft is an option. Either way, I'd say it's going to be a costly repair. Be easier just to have a new butt made.

I'd go with what you'e been advised above - get a new butt made.

Not sure i like the costly repair part! :O the butt was already lengthened 1" when the 'Walnut Burr' was added.

Well.... Having a silly late night game after a few drinks (and a then few more) isn't a great idea!

Stress, frustration, a few too many misses... Swinging the cue about and then a radiator!

Gees I hope I never do that to my Trev, If I was you I would dry fit it all together and use masking tape 'arrows' to line pre-align everything, then take it apart and blast every surface, crack or crevise with masses of wood glue, and then re-assemble. I don't think you, or we, would ever notice the difference! Good luck!

Send your pictures to robin cook, he has a before/after picture on his website of a cue that shattered and the after pic is impressive! It's worth asking....

Thanks for the additional suggestions.... Maybe it is time to treat myself again! But cash is an issue right now... I fancy a one piece Andy Travis or Dave Coutts.. I love this shaft though so might just try and get a new butt sorted..

The cue is repairable. The only problem is there will be a slight weakness at that part. Should play the same though.
A new butt is an option but another option is to have a new piece of ebony spliced across the break and then drilled for joint.

Funnily enough this was my 'drunk' cue until 'had' to sell my JP superior... I just preferred this one to play with so the JP became redundant... this cue has been my everything cue for about a year... I'm now cueless
