  • Who should i use for Cue Alterations/restoration?

Hi, looking for some advice regarding a recent cue acquisition. It is a Mannock Anti Grip but needs a bit of TLC plus some minor work to make it more playable. I am in the east midlands. Suggestions gratefully accepted!

You've got quite a few options to be honest:
Dave Coutts, does work on my cues when they need it usually: http://www.couttscues.co.uk/
Robin Cook, a very good cue maker: http://www.robincues.co.uk/
Tony Glover, although I've heard a few stories about his cue repairs in the past I know he's very good with old cues. His websites down at the moment but you could probably find his contact details on here somewhere.
    Stamford cues: http://www.stamfordcuemakers.com/
If you're more the Sheffield way then Andy Travis and Jim Evans who are both very good cue maker. They're both on tsf, thinks Andy's user name is trav and Jim's is jim evans.
Hope that helps a little. Good luck :snooker:

Thanks for that - I hadn't heard of Coutts until recently so didn't know much about them - I am in Nottingham so they are probably the closest. It's a beautiful cue so I really don't want to mess it up!! Of the suggested who would you use?

I usually go to Dave Coutts as he's closest to me and always does a lovely job but I think that they'd all do a very good job on the cue.

Who should i use for Cue Alterations/restoration?

I sent a Ye Olde Ash in poor condition to Tony Glover a couple of years ago and it came back looking amazing while still retaining its original state also he is a really nice bloke to deal with....

Glovers is just the other side of Ashby de la Zouch from you.Straight down the A42 and hang right towards Swandlincote , my guess is about 30 miles , door to door.Tony has a good reputation and he has earned it.

PM sent . I would also suggest , Coutts ( Lincoln ) and Robin Cook ( nr Stamford ) , they are also excellent cue makers and are relatively near to Nottingham as well.
