  • Joe davis 140 break riley tombstone cue

Any one now how much one of these is worth, looks to be about 55" with an 8 mm tip so obviously had some work done, black badge machine spliced with burr maple front splice, no pictures as haven't obtained it yet, looks in good nick, couple of dings here and there as you'd expect.

Worth nothing to a collector, far too short and been thinned down excessively.
Best bet is to find a pool player who likes old cues

Tip is actually 8.7mm, take your point, too short for a playing cue, and too butchered to be a collectors item, but must be worth something, was looking at selling it for my local club to try and raise funds for some new balls, but then had one of my bright ideas of getting it cut and shut into a shiny new cue for a friends retirement gift, 65 this year and by my reckoning cue would have been made the year he was born?
Just need to know a rough estimate of value before i decide what to do?
