  • Should I buy a Master Cue and where?

    Hi there,

Since my leather case, with my 2 piece Peradon and push-on extension were stolen, I'm thinking about my options. Too bad there aren't many nearby or anywhere in The Netherlands. That's why I'm considering ordering online..

At first I looked at a new 3/4 Peradon Century with 6" and Peradon screw in telescopic extension. Including an aluminium case and shipping, this will cost about £210 or €310.

But after some reading any hand spliced Master Cue from Thailand sounds and looks good to me. I'm a regular, serious snooker player. And if it's any indication, my highest break is 85 in competition and 132 in line-up practice.

So, what do you guys think about the Master Cue's value for money? And if I were to buy one, where should I buy it?

I have owned 1 mastercue the mathew stevens replica and 3 craftsman cues, in my opinion i found the craftsman cues to be of a haigher quality and played alot smoother, check out their website www.craftsmancues.com

I got the Peradon Canterbury from the Billiards Boutique and have been very happy with it (I just made my highest break of 61 a couple of days ago). Frankly at my level of play I don't think the difference is because I playw with a better cue but it is a nice piece of wood and I'm going to look after it so it'll hopefully last me a long time.

One complaint that I had was that my 6" minibutt had a paint chip on it but Pete promised to send me a replacement so it should all be fine.

I have to agree with Grantlowery, Craftsman cues are very good quality and are made to order without extra cost. Mastercue were very good when they first came out but I have seen and heard recently that the quality is not as good as it was. If you have set your heart on a Mastercue then Stuart at Greenbaize I think has a good selection and should be able to sort you out something you're looking for.
