Looking for a snooker cue... help extremely appreciated

Hi all,

first post, Well i want to buy a new cue. I'm a decent player and can hit decent breaks up to 30-ish quite regularly. Ive got 40-45 quid to spend on a new cue, so far from my research the peradon snooker cues are allrite?, i dunno tho. And what tip size do you recommend and whether the need for 'mushrooming' the tip has any positive effect... !!! thanks

Dont really know about a cue. But I think as Ash 3/4 would be the best with a tip of 9.5-9.7mm. Mushroomed for sure! It helps in the playing the shots, applying side spin on the cue ball.

I have a Peradon albeit more expensive model than your price point but it's a nice cue. I would hope their lower end ones are still pretty good.

Yet again I see the same cue as mine above has gone for £37. Just because it was made by Chin Chan Cue.

thanks, whats the main differences between the 3/4 split and 1/2 split. Whats the advantage of 3/4 split? and how would you go about mushrooming a rectangle tip.

The main advantage of three quarter cue is that it has more strength at the point of jointing and will 'usually' have more natural weight, though this depends on what timber the cue is built from.

I'd say to buy a cue that you can at least hit a ball with and something that fells pretty comfortable for you.

Do not be led by any 'experts' or even by friends or the like. Not all players like the same things in cues and it's a highly subjective thing.
