his cues are great bang for you buck.
    i quite like his taper.
i love his finish, as he tries to retain a natural wooden appearance, an understated beauty.

at the very very least, he knows well enough what type of shaft makes a decent hitting cue.

raymond himself is easy to deal with and has been most gracious in every way, in particular in helping me changing his usual osborne butt joint with an o'min one that i have sent him.

Oh good god yes, my mistake, my definition of straight for a cue is 4 straight lines, 2 at the top and bottom and 2 on the sides - if you like dodgy tapers, fair play.

Anyway, it was straight and good so all is good.

Never played snooker with a rectangle or a parallelogram before, will need to give it a go.

          Exquisite cues?

If it were a rounded butt it may roll even. Butt surely a butt with a chamfer as you may call it will lift.no.

What about it if its a 3/4 joined cue and you de-attach the butt from the cue and only roll the shaft? SHould the shaft then roll straight or are there further things to be taken into account? I sighting down the cue the only accurate way see if it is straight?

As the taper is mostly in the shaft, taking the butt off will not help as you describe.
Sighting down the cue is the best way.

Beg to differ , i have a mast cue the lifts slightly when rolled but i know its dead straight , not only that its the best cue i,ve owned or ever played bar none , i,ve had loads of rediculous offers for it but wont sell . If it looks straight in my mind it is straight .

                  A corkscrew will roll straight.

perfect example. Rolling a cue on the table will only tell you if the cue is straight along the sides of the cylinder, not if tip is in line with the center of the butt - which is actually what is important.

Ohh I see, thanks for clarifying that for me!
