Thanms
Rubbish cues, do not buy this crap, from personal experience could not recommend one. Stay away from Chinese craftsmanship. Go for uk cue maker mate.

dunno wat you're talkin about mate, but the aurora ive had a hit with was a very good, well made cue. and just because he's not around anymore, doesnt mean u can just slander about him like that. and also, whats wrong with chinese craftsmanship? ive played with dirt cheap chinese cues that would **** on what 300 pounds could get me from the UK.

Awfull lot of bad reviews on here about Aurora cues, seems like over half of the cues butts ended up cracked because of poor chairmanship. I'm still sceptical if Airin ever existed. And from my own conversations with him/Richard on Facebook he was pretty clueless anyway. Just uses big words and puts "thank you" at the end of every sentence regardless what he'd said. Don't know what Chinese cues you've been using but I've tried a couple and the quality is crap. Dyed ebony, laqeur finished firewood, some played okay once the laqeur had been taken off and oiled but to say you've played with Chinese cues that would p**s on a £300 UK made cue is a bold statement
being the most isolated island away from everyone down here in australia, i can honestly say ive seen cracks and various forms of damage from all sorts of cues and cases and extensions being delivered here. a crack in a cue can be due to climate. ive also seen dozens of people who have bought expensive cues from the UK only to be disapointed. any reputeable cue maker will tell you it doesnt matter where the wood is from, its just wood. as for cheap cues and finishes, ive finished as many expensive cues, as cheap ones only to find the quality of the way it hits has very little to do with where its made. and as for airin, i spoke to him. he gave me a fair bit of reasonable advice regarding certain things he wouldnt normally share with other people. 'trade secrets' so to speak. im not here to create a stir but to point out the fact words on here have influence, sometimes if you dont have something nice to say, dont say it. speak from personal experience, not wat you hear, or assume, based on a few incidents.
I Have 4 aurora cues. All of them are very well made and very nice to play with , the finishing are not far away from Tw or Mw cues I have. And none of them have single crack on except for one that broken during shipping. And the owner are very nice to deal with.

First of all I dont believe in Airin death? Does he ever exist? probably not.
I bought a brand new aurora cue and it cost me £600 traditional style. The cue i received has a varnish or lacquered finish and shaft is what people called a piece of wood with the grain all over the place.Craftsmanship is worse than a club cue. If i were to price this £600 pounds cue i will probably say £60. Rubbish cheap cues and in my opinion is a rip off. There are massive crack on the side of the but were ebony and veneers spliced together. I was lucky enough to get my money back because i purchased via ebay .
Recently i purchased a Woods cue from Australia but it looks like arrive from China. It is the same quality as the Aurora cue and even better made. Price was £120 multi spliced including delivery. It is big difference in price and quality is better than aurora.
About cracks:
How comes parris cues don't have cracks when they imported to china or other places? Nothing to do with the climate mate it is all about craftsmanship. I never heard about Trevor cues have cracks or Mike Wooldridge or Stamford cues but for some reason 9 out of 10 aurora cues have some kind of cracks. Cheap material crap labour end of the story.

the guy want's an aurora , what's the problem here ? "craigslater" if wanna buy one , buy one and see if will like it don't listen to all this guys here , I have few cues and almost all of them have issues : Parris Ultimates have cracks ( have one , snakewood crack) , two TW non of them its straight , 1 Aurora had a crack in the butt the other one its perfect but at least they are dead straight , the only maker for I would trow my hand into the fire its Wooldridge .
Funny the two Aurora cues I own were made in Canada by Canadian citizens not China and the're both pieces of fine craftmanship best ash chevrons I've ever seen not that I'm an expert but I own quite a few snooker and pool cues , there is however some nice work coming out of China , Thailand, the US, New Zealand even Africa !! I wish you guys would stop this bias favouring UK cues it's a known fact that Parris has bought off shore shafts for his cues LP cues is one that claims this and there's UK pro's using LP, the point is a cue should be judged by its quality and value for money spent and the pleasure it gives the owner with it's playability not by the country it was made in , the nationality of the maker, the waiting list or the exotic price, yes the UK has produced some of the finest cues in the world the've also produced some of the finest pieces of ****e too just like all the other cue producing countries, there's talented cuesmith's all over the world !!
HI it does not mean that you will play better with a cue thats worth gbp 600 and a cue that is worth gbp 100 . You are paying for well knowm cue makers in the Uk there are some good cue makers all over the World that are just as good as a John Parris Mike Woodridge Trevor White Etc.

Too be far, I bought nearly 10 pieces cue from Aurora since 3 years ago and none of them seems having any cracks. I have 5 John Pariis Ultimate cues, one of this 5 have crack on the snakewood splice (right under badge) and crack at ebony butt (at back near base joint).
The high gloss finishing on Aurora cues i own are mostly oil finishing and buffing. This can be easily tell whether oil polished or cheap laquering. Cannot cheat people!
