  • Say hello to "Froggy"

    Meet crazy Froggy
Points against: splices long way out, that crazy graining
Points for: one piece hand made cue, jet black ebony, that crazy graining , has an identity so just got to love him

Specs: One piece ash cue with jet black hand spliced butt, brass name disc, 58 1/4", 10 mm ferrule, 17.1 oz, big 31.3 mm butt, 16" balance point, has an SD joint but no idea who's.
Don't know how long Froggy has been hopping around but it feels like an old cue.

thats good mate back in the day before we got fussy about shaft grain, level splice work etc etc a player was a player regardless thats all that mattered really.

Yes and it is the same cue sold 3 weeks ago, looks like it's been given a quick touch up.

Not a bad looking cue, has plenty of character about it with that grain at least. People are far too concerned these days about asthetics as opposed to if its a good player.

I like the grain on this, wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

                        Thank you
The part of the shaft you can see when getting down on the shot is alright, no problem there

No doubting its nice to look at a shaft that has the nice even arrows, straight grain etc, but once upon a time nobody bothered about this at all, and we should all remember it makes no difference to the playability of a cue its purely cosmetic.
Must have made the cuemakers job a nightmare now finding perfect shafts not only for density, playability etc but also nice arrows that we come to expect today.
Its actually nice to see a shaft like froggy as afterall wood is wood and natural every piece unique thats the beauty of it.
