Raymond has a very good reputation in the Scottish snooker community that has nothing to do with this forum, firstly as a cue doctor and now making his own cues.

He has sold cues locally across Scotland via word of mouth, on here to a number of satisfied customers both in the UK via the forum and abroad to places like China as has been mentioned before.

He makes his own cues from scratch.

These are all facts. You are free to believe something else if you like but that doesn't change the facts.

Have you asked any other cue makers for pictures of the shafts they have in stock? I've ordered from many top cue makers and the reason I picked them is that I trust their judgement to make me the type of shaft I want. That's what I'm paying all the money for. I wouldn't want to pick my own shaft based on solely a photograph because I have neither the knowledge or skill required to select a shaft that will play like I want it to.

We chose to back him up because we know more about his work than you do!

From what i can remember right at the start of this you aked raymo to go to his workshop to chose ash and ebony to which he replied he never had all that much stock, especially ebony, correct so far? Thought so.... Then you replied that you'd go anyway and chose what you could and take it from there. So from what i can make out you basically insisted on going to the workshop and then started giving dates when you'd be going. Raymond never invited you or asked you to go and now your accusing him of trying to waste your time over a cue he "couldnt make" although he never said he couldnt make it, he simply said he never had the materials presently that were required! But now you've messed it up for yourself by arsing him off!

Welcome to the forum Steve! Could be anyone? John Parris for all I know???
Maybe if you actually read back at my posts you would find I'm not taking orders for custom cues as
Each person has specific requests for so many arrows on ash which is difficult to find
Takes time and money! So I make what I want when I want with no pressure of finding Five perfect arrows!
And yes I'm not perfect? I still have to try and sell my cues even if splicing is out! The bottom points
Which it has been on many!!!!

This is valuable exposure and will add faces, places and stories to cuemakers and their cues, and as we know 'people buy people....they like!'
This seems a good idea to me. Would save on people coming in here and being abused simply for wanting a cue making and wanting to see what wood was available.

Yeah, could be John Parris! And you say you're not paranoid. Am I not good enough to comment because I haven't been a member on the forum long?

You said you would put me on a waiting list and that I could come have a look at the wood in stock, that was fine by me. Then everyone said differently and threw a barrage of nonsense and abuse at me. I was only wanting a cue!

Mate you'd be first on the waiting list that I simply don't have!
I said I may be and hoping to take custom orders by the summer in a previous post but you obviously didn't read that either!!!
As for the blog? I'm more than happy to do so if all others including the top makers agree to do so!!!

No, you're wrong. I asked him if he could make me a cue, he said he is busy at the moment but will get back to me. I then said I didn't mind waiting and as I'm going to Scotland soon would it be possible to check out what ash and ebony he had at that time. This was on another thread. I understand wood needs to settle and I was in no rush so if something I liked then so be it. He agreed that was ok, said i was welcome to visit anytime and emailed me the address. I asked if he could maybe take a photo if the new stock hadnt arrived by time i visited, which was unimportant at this stage. I didnt press the matter further.

Then i saw this thread and had a look at his current work. I made one comment after someone else had asked about seeing a photo of wood. Then Raymo147 went on a crazed paranoia rave at everything I said, after which you all started to back him up against something that i never accused him of. Then, his reactions and other comments by people sparked me to delve further and look into it. I wasnt going to waste my time visiting if he was unable to make me what i wanted (a longer than standard cue). It was after him saying that he didnt have much wood in at moment than other people said he doesnt make non-standard sizes, same people that also said he made great cues. Then, people just started making dumb comments and it spiralled into the usual internet clique bs.

I haven't messed anything up for myself because a) I'm unwilling to deal with the guy, b) he cannot make the cue i wanted, c) I have doubts as to whether he makes any cues. I asked legit questions, such as how long been making considering the most thrown out defence was his owning a workshop makes no sense, if he built a workshop to make cues but was making cues prior to the workshop how was he making cues? Anyways, lesson learned is to go to a reputable cue maker, not one thats only present in an internet forum.
