Looks pretty nice, a little too many arrows on the shaft for my personal liking but overall looks like a good cue.

Thanks.. yeah it's not too bad.. nothing flashy really but it's in a good spec and has a very good balance and feel to it. Hopefully I'll manage to find my way with it..

Judging by the number this must have been a cue that has been bought back by JP possibly a p/ex to be sold on again. The current cues are well into the 2000's now so I'd guess this cue was probably made around 2010 originally. Hope it plays well for you anyway.

Actually the cue has a very minor blemish on the side of the shaft but it's really nothing... could be that the customer who ordered it didn't want in the end. I just don't understand what cue man means with the cue being bought back to then being sold again?!?? To make it short, does this mean that I was fooled in any way?????

I don't know the ins and outs only pointing out that the number of this Ultimate would suggest it was made back around 2010 at the latest. Current brand new Ultimate cues are numbered around 2100 or there abouts to the best of my knowledge. The cues are sequential so each cue will go up in number, no going back to the 1700's etc.

Whether or not JP has taken this back as a possible p/ex, or maybe the cue came back for refurb and the owner never paid for the return who knows, only JP would know the history of it. However to suggest its a brand new cue put into the shop I find very hard to believe. However only you can decide whether you're happy with a cue that might not be brand new. It'll be in very good condition and of course the playability of the cue should be the major factor in your satisfaction with it. I don't want to put any doubt into your mind about the cue, its possible its better quality than a lot of the current cues being sold.

The special cue i sent back around 99 was sold on as well in the shop, should never have sent that cue back

Can you show a pic of the blemish on the shaft?

Taking one point at a time... I own an Ultimate cue that is numbered 1693. I bought that cue in March or April 2011 from a local club. I know they received that cue around January 2011 after waiting a lengthy 12 months for it. By the way, I paid a fortune for that cue... Anyways so you saying that my new Ultimate was made in 2010 latest doesn't really make much sense.

Judging by the condition of the cue, it's appearance and playability, it looked nothing but a brand new cue and that's really why I didn't bother asking too many questions. All I asked was how come they have an Ultimate on stock and all he said is that they finished that cue on Thursday (exactly one week ago).

Just as you said, only I can decide whether I'm happy with it and to be honest I don't mind much about the history of that cue and I am very happy I am the owner of it. I played my first snooker frames with it today and it feels like a real professional cue, far better than the other 2 Ultimates I own.

Why did you send it back? How long did you have it with you before sending it back??

It's almost impossible to see the blemish on my new cue, and if in fact a customer refused this cue because of it, then I'm sorry but his a total idiot!!

Had my special about a year before returning it, just didn't feel I was getting on with it, in hind sight all in my mind. Was very surprised I was able to exchange it after that length of time.

And it was sold on as a brand new cue?!? Ok that doesn't seem right... so basically it would be quite logical to presume that all cues in his shop that are not standard range, are used cues!!>!1??
