  • cue lengthening and cue badges.

hi all, not been on here for a while but after some help/advice please.

i bought a parris off ebay 2 weeks ago but its very very short, about 53in in fact, plus the butt is completly round, something i'm not a fan of, got to have a flat part for me, and also the parris badge has someones name on it too, i'll probably just get a new butt done for it, so who would be best to do it please, bearing in mind i dont really want to use parris again, after the massive cock up they did with a cue of mine before!

also, where could i get another parris badge done? any help very much appreciated.

    thanks

Why did you buy a cue that was absolutely nothing like you wanted?

Dear spaz, I mean Paz couldn't resist it! Has to be John Parris himself surely??

craftsman are really good had a couple of cues lengthened by them and work is top quality, i believe parris will exchange badge if its one of his for about £15, i have bought loads of cues not right spec because of grain and flex on shaft in hope of altering it to my likeing but never turns out right, suggest you get one custom made and you will be surprised how cheap that option can be
        Craftsman custom made cue
        57 inches
        17 ounces
        9 mil Wooldridge original supertip
        ash shaft plain ebony butt

If you're having a new butt made don't bother putting a badge back on, if John Parris doesn't do the work, what you'll have isn't a Parris cue at all, and to represent it as such would be wrong.

How did parris cues mess up your cue before?

                  cue lengthening and cue badges.

What's specs do you play with I've a cue that has already been lengthened and has has a 20inch butt so if yours is the standard 16 it would make yours 57inch and also with mind there is the shaft with an 8.3 tip and the length is 58 18oz approx and 28mm butt it is more of a pool specs cue there has been repair work 4inches below the joint there looks like there are cracks but it's just where the repair is and glue marks the butt has a slight sounds when tapping it on the side but nothing at all when playing and a real nice playing cue this certainly ain't the cheapest option but I suppose at least you have 2 cues out of it my number is 07624 222147 if you have whatsapp I can send you some pics many thanks Dave

                    thanks for the replies guys.

dave i may well get in touch with you about the cue.

i sent my old parris cue off to him about 2 years ago, to have the shaft slimmed down slightly and have an sd joint fitted, pretty simple you'd have thought? wrong! they said they could take up to 2 weeks to do the work as their extremly busy, which seemed a bit of a while to me, but hay, patience is a virtue, so after not hearing anything for 5 weeks i phoned them, seemed they received the cue in, but didnt know if the work had been done and couldnt find it anywhere!

so after another few calls back and forth they offered to make me a new one, to my own specs, which i had to wait an age for, and when i got it, didnt like it and ended up flogging it on ebay to a guy from malta!

so you can understand my reluctance in sending a cue there again.....maybe i'll drive up and take it there myself.....

                      cue lengthening and cue badges.

Might be the best option going yourself that's really bad that some cues to people impossible to replace so to have that happen is pretty poor I'm sorry to hear it 1 thing I forgot to add tho I did say it was more suited to pool the cue has a slim taper thro out albeit slim it is 1 of the best tapered cues I've come across just give me a shout if you need me cheers mate
