Cue splice length

Hi*
Spoke to tony glover today regarding a custom cue he mentioned that cue with longer splicing produces a more powerful cue is that true?*

Probably means the overall total butt length from base to tips of splices eg longer the butt and splice length = less shaft length which will make the cue generally stiffer and powerful, in a 3/4 cue joint would be higher up say 18" as opposed to 16".
