How good where or are Robert Osborne cues?

Never seen 1 in the flesh, so to speak, I've noticed they get good reviews from most people on here.

Hi, I used to own a Robert Osborne Green Plate cue..it was one of the best cues I've ever played with and as good as any Mike Wooldridge, John Parris cue I've used. all the splicing on the cue I had was spot on and even top and bottem. :snooker:

Best maker in my eyes but that's just my opinion!
If it wasn't for Rob I would be still driving a taxi!
Obviously Trev and Mike are right up there also!
It's all about opinions tho I suppose.

i was lucky enough to buy one of richy macdonald, absolutly fantastic cue, i have had custom made cues of parris, craftsman and aslo top of the range mastercues, other parris, peradon including one i won of cue wizard via snooker scene. cue craft, omin and far too many others to mention and was without doubt way above them all, fell on hard times and had to sell it to pay my mortgage, wish i knew who had it would pay the world to get it back, was that good

        57 inches
        17 ounces

I've not been to many workshops Dean!
Went to Will Hunts when I was young when Rob was working for him.
None of the machinery was Wills he rented everything.
Never been or seen much of trevs, mikes workshop only been to north wests apart from Wills!
All I can say is Robs workshop is cue making heaven and the effort involved in jigs and machinery is incredible.
4 lathes a beast of a bandsaw and loads more jigs to make processes as simple as possible!
The time and thought that's even went into all this even lathe adaptions were all thought out by him!
That's why I call him Einstein lol lol

Got to agree, the guy is the business. Best in my opinion, although there are other incredible makers too.

Very difficult to get hold of one mate!
You very rarely even see one on eBay which tells you how good they are and that customers
                      don't wanna ever sell them!
Good luck tho hope you find one!

Would the o.p. not be able to contact Robert, and buy a cue from him ?

Why is it so hard to buy one ?

He sells all his cues to dealers in the Far East, he doesn't sell any cues retail to the UK public at the moment and hasn't done for some time.

                            Robert Osborne Cues

They sell for 8500-9500 dollars in the Far East which equates to 700-750 pounds

Mmm that could also contribute to the rarity in the UK . Not saying they aren't very good ( only seen one in the flesh ).
