hey raymo, you obviously know him well enough. have you ever asked him why he doesn't want to sell cues here? There will always be a market for his cues in the UK and personally I find it a little sad that he won't sell his cues here. Why is the far east offer so much better, is it because they aren't as clued up on cues so the quality doesn't have to be as high?

There were a raft of stock cues for sale on his website, but after they were sold, there does not appear to have been any others added.

Could also be he doesnt produce as many compared to other cuemakers as he's a one man band, plus most of them seem to be going to asia anyway.

not that much, just over 1000 pounds, 1600 pounds at most. Far East is not Middle East.

Meant to say Hong Kong Dollars. He has two dealership companies based in hong kong. Snooker147 and Wai Ming billiards. People can place orders through them and the average cue cost 8500-9600 hong kong dollars.

Robert made me one this year

                  http://www.thesnookerforum.com/board...light=pics+cue

Great cuemaker and a really decent bloke as well [ even though he does support Arsenal ! ]

Agree with Raymond , his workshop is something else . Really clean as well .

I've owned a few cues from him and a lot of my mates have them as well .

The shafts are really playable ......not too stiff and not too whippy .

They do come up on here on the odd occasion and if times get any harder ....i will be selling mine
Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !

HK is a free port - no tax at all.

Has he any plans to make blackplates at all or is that a nogo area with regards to him not wanting to customise them too much for customers?

I know for a fact he's going to be doing blackplates as he just got new badges made!
                        But for agents only!
He has a list of punters wanting cues but he will not go back to made to measure stuff anytime soon!
Why would you want the hassle when the agents pay the exact same money and he can make cues to what specs he likes?
On business terms for him it's by far the best way for him!
I can understand the joe publics frustration to of not being able to get a cue!
But he's not super human and can't please everyone!
Just wants to run his business in the best way to suit him.
The quality is still there that's for sure.
He has so much pride in his work.

I'm considering selling one - I was lucky enough to pop and see Robert at a time he'd just finished a batch of green plates. I picked out a maple 1pce, wraparound bloodwood splices with maple veneers. It's a striking cue and plays beautifully. I was considering taking up playing snooker again but I've barely used it. If anyone is interested just let me know. It comes with minibutt, tele-extension and certificate. I'll also gladly do a good deal on a case and accessories if these are required.
