Yes I believe that is the case but his jointed cues aren't split at 16". If he were to do that the joint would go through the splices.

The only parris ultimates that would be made as 1 piece and then jointed would be split at 12"

On the Parris website it states that 16" 3/4 cues take less time than 12" 3/4 cues. This is across all ranges.

Without starting another thread, why have cue prices gone up so much?

I'm not in the market and have not visited the forum as much as I used to, but whenever I have a quick look at a thread it seems that prices have gone up significantly. I know inflation plays a role, but even the Thai cue manufacturers seem to be matching the UK prices I looked at 3-5 years ago. Are the materials costing more?

I think Parris has every right to put his prices up TBH, you only have to look how big the JP empire is on a commercial level and to be perfectly honest he's earned that right so to speak.
What I do object to is other cue makers particularly one in question who charges the same price as JP ultimates yet he's very small fry on a commercial scale but for some reason he think he's earned that right to charge near on a grand for a cue.

I agree. JP has been in the business nearly 30 years and the majority of top pros now use his cues. Regardless of whether or not they bought them or were given them, fact remains he is the go to guy when it comes to the pros and you simply cannot buy that reputation.

Personally I blame the Fedia's and other muppets who have damaged the market with their ridiculous price demands when listing parris ultimates and because of the long waiting times, some people with money to burn are willing to pay £1500 for a cue. JP is now only taking more of his cut from these cues and pricing the likes of Fedia out of the market. There is a limit to what you can charge for a cue and most people looking to buy will not part with more unless they are getting the cue direct from the maker.
