  • Trevor White Cue Info

a guy at my local snooker club is selling his Trevor white cue and I'm planning on buying it next week

there is what looks like a crack/dent at the back, from what i remember 2 inches long maybe, a split is probably the right word for what it looks like. the guys had the cue for a year and a half maybe 2 years and the crack/dent/split whatever it is has always been there and never bothered him as i think it came like that

is it natural for this to be there in the wood or is it something that could get worse, i have found 2 threads so far mentioning the same situation with a trevor white cue, 1 review the guy complained and the other review the guy was never bothered by it, it was just mentioned as someone spotted it in the pictures when the guy had it up for sale, so this does sound common so as the moment I'm presuming this is nothing to worry about?

but i just want it clarified before i hand over £425 for it as if it is something that should be fixed cause it could get worse in time etc then I need to no obviously

if trevor can apply that would be great, thanks

I haven't seen too many of Trevors on here with cracks. Depending on the design, £425 is not too far off the price to buy a new one, yes you would have the wait, but be careful if you are paying top dollar for a cue which is not in tip-top shape.

pics of the split would help, is it just the join of the splices?

£425 is a fair junk of money for a private sale. its very close to the kind of money i sell them at having fixed the cracks etc!

well yeh ino its a hefty price for a private sale, he paid 425 for it from trevor and because hes not really short of money hes just got it lying at home and hes happy to leave it standing until he gets his money back. I haven't got a picture but its basically a small split along the side of the butt end, thats as simple as i can put it, its got about 20 splicing's, so I'm still debating whether its to over the top for me lol.

should i worry about this split then or not as best you can answer from my description?
and would it effect the value?
am i paying to much at 425 if that's wot it cost new? bearing in mind its got the maximum splices you could fit on a cue it must be the highest spec regarding to splices

the spec is what id want so it just made scene to buy this instead of wait for one to be made

oh and no its not where the splices join, its just on the side of it, the split doesn't go up high enough to reach the 1st splice, only 2 inches probably

might be a simple superglue from the freezer fix.

                  Hi Ross (Resolven Ross.?)

I'm intruiged by the issue with this cue, and the fact that it has so many splices. Who was the person who initially bought the cue.?

Can you send me a pic of it, or post one here.?

his name is roger stevens, we live up in north wales, i live in llandudno so he lives around my area not sure which town exactly

he had 2 identical cues made by you, one as a pool cue with a smaller tip, and the other cue had a bigger tip suitable snooker, and slightly longer, he decided to quit playing snooker and stick to pool a while back so his snooker cue is left at home not being used, and it seems hes not to bothered about selling it unless he gets back wot he paid for it, if that doesn't ring any bells i can try and get a pic next week wen i try the cue out at the club.

i think the cue had this very small split from new so thought nothing of it when i asked him about it, but I'd prefer my mind to be put at rest before buying it ideally.

so would you say its fine or would you advise me to send it to you if i bought it

                    thanks for your time
