You'd get a good quality machine spliced cue for that money, all that you've listed get very good feedback, Mastercue is prob what i personally would opt for having experience using their cues, and seeing the quality first hand...

Peradons the way to go, finest quality bamboo shafts with well done wonky machine splices, topped of with an mdf based tip and a butt coated with a half inch of B&Q varnish. The finest money can buy!

On what I've heard about finish I would cross Dunns out of that list.

You can't go wrong value-wise with these sort of Chinese/HK sets off eBay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TOP-57-ZEB...item256828c7ea

They are cracking value as a full kit including postage and are well made in standard specs which should suit all standard players, if he's above standard level you should ask him what he's after. There's tons of 'em on eBay and plenty of choice within your budget, I've bought two for people before and they were both happy.

I'd go for Mastercue... having handled quite a few over the years. The quality is quite consistent and good finish on their cues.
