If even splicing is that important, I assume you specified you wanted even splicing at the time of order?

If so, then you should get it sorted.

If not, then don't worry about it. It will not make any difference to the way the cue feels when you play with it.

If that's not enough then return it for a replacement. The options are clear.

Only if Parris & co. share the same clarity

Even splice points on top of the range hand made cues should be a given.

I doubt you'd be too pleased if a cue you ordered turned up and was bent if the reply was "well, you should have specified that you wanted a straight one."

Nope, I wouldn't be pleased. But I would get a refund, credit note or a replacement.

Please don't be pedantic. A bent cue compromises the function of a snooker cue greatly. Uneven splicework or less than decorative patterns will not impede a cue's performance one iota.

Just read the entire thread properly. I am in the wrong here totally and apologise!

I assumed he had purchased a cue and it came with uneven splice work. In fact he sent and already decent cue off for decorative touches and it came back looking like that.

ouch, that is beyond **** poor from the Parris brand. No excuse.

Demand a refund, the work to be redone or a credit note.

Seems quality is slipping due to pressure of orders being placed on the store. This majestic on ebay has pretty wonky lower splices as well.

Just to add my tuppence worth on the JP quality issue given the volume of negative comments on tsf. I received my new JP Supreme cue on Wednesday and the splicing is very even and I am VERY pleased with the workmanship. I am hoping that I can do the cue some justice!

They do turn out some good work, just seems to be pot luck if you get a cue that was handed off to someone who can splice the butt evenly.

It is a fair point that it doesn't affect the playability of the cue, nor does a small dent affect performance in a car, however it does impact on the way we feel about the item and will affect the way others feel about the item should you try to sell.

In short you paid the amount that many pay for an entire cue in having a small aesthetic change made and the work has not been completed to the expected standard. Send the cue back to Parris Cues for the poor work to be rectified, he should carry this out without quibble.
its not the odd one its most of the new ones, even the ones in his shop

you wouldn't send a pair of jeans away for alteration and then say, oh by the way can I have the legs the same length please.

Glad your pleased with it John. Nice to hear a possitive comment about the JP cues. Hope it plays well. Still waiting for mine to be started. Been 7 weeks now since I ordered so hopefully they will begin working on it soon.

Can I direct everyone to my last pair of posts before anymore parables are made?

Curious to know if this problem was resolved to the O.Ps. satisfaction or is it still ongoing?
