  • Wiping cue

Hi, sorry if there is another threat about this, i was just wondering if wiping your cue with a snooker cloth adding no water or wax, just a dry cloth would be okay? I've just got a new cue and look to look after it the best i can and after about 1.5hours the cue starts to get sticky and i wondered if just wiping it down with a dry cloth i could carry in my case would harm it? If not great, if so then i shall have to buy wax and/or use a damp cloth also, many thanks, Josh

Dry cloth certainly wont harm it, the most important thing is keeping your hands clean.

Hi mate, using a dry cloth is not a problem, you can use a wet cloth and dry buff straight away when it get's really sticky, also make sure your hands are clean and well washed before playing!

Never use a wet cloth bud, it must wring out so it's only slightly damp and dry your cue straight away......

Cheers lads, I'll stick to just bringing a cloth with me to matches and wiping my cue down now and again then will use the damp cloth technique
