yes Andy they are ok speed wise but the up keep of the damn thing's are crazy....

graham changed his cue as he wanted his osborne thicker at the tip and got one of the well known cuemakers to do the work for him, he got the cue cut to be thicker and got the length re-spliced similar to what his parris looks but to be honest it was a horrible job that was done on his cue and as yous would of seen at the world he was terrible, had lost all confidence with his osborne cue due to the work done on it. he got 2 parris cues made, 1 was a 3 piece i am sure but he preferred the 1 piece which he is using now, its quite a nice cue, think its got 2 arrows on 1 side and 5 or 6 on the other but graham tends to just play the shot however the cue is sitting in his hand, doesnt bother with grains or which side grain he uses, just plays.

So I wonder who this cue maker could be then that made such a shoddy job. I guess as no names have been mentioned I can only assume its someone who possibly frequents this forum and could be damaging to their business if named. Of course I could be totally wrong but it does seem a bit strange to mention the bad job but then no mention of this person.

no idea - but sometimes these jobs can't be done well, lengthening cues is never good - btw i make it 7 of the 16 with jp cues. which is still way more than anybody else.

it's not really the same cue once you do. generally better to buy another cue then at least you can go back!

Would it not depend though on how much its lengthened and how much weight (if any) is added to it? Theres a few players i can think of that have had their cues lengthened, White and Stevens come to mind immediately, White had his H&O lengthened and also his Parris, Stevens cue has also been made longer in the past. Probably more down to familiarity with the shaft more than anything.

Why wouldn't the shaft be the same though if the butt is lengthened?

Still, people will only believe that this JP was a freebee. Of course whether they are or not the majority of players have choices and of the 16 in this tournament from the beginning, 9 used JP cues, not bad for someone who makes the worst cues in the world, uneven splices etc etc.

Cueman, I am lucky enough to own a top professionals Parris Ultimate cue and it is perfect in every way. Splicework is spot on, grain straight as can be and five arrows that are perfectly spaced. A pro would be mad to refuse a cue as good as this.

I was being sarcastic in my post, there have been lots of talk recently about poor Parris splices and cues in general and to be honest I'm sick of hearing it. Just because he's not an active member on this site doesn't mean people should continually slag him, and half these people don't even own Parris cues yet still they have an opinion, usually biased towards other cue makers who do use this site.
If you have a problem with a cue contact the cuemaker, don't come on here slagging people, that damages reputations and isn't the way to go about any business. This should be made a rule on this site from now on!
