Hi fellas ive got a mate with a 90s Riley Burwat 3/4 which has had both joints previously come away from their ebony fixings, not both at the same time tho. These have both been glued by him some time ago and seem to be solid tho one or both of them must have been slightly skewed as the cue now is slightly bent at the joint when locked.
Also when locked the joint has about 1mm of play forward from locked so this is leaving the cue virtually loose when locked if you get my drift. These are dot to dot cuecraft joints i believe. These repairs have caused the ebony to split or crack in several places on both the shaft & butt near the joints & also some cracks along the splice fingers on the shaft part.
He is really desperate to find out if these problems can be mended as this is his playing cue since he began playing over 10yrs ago. Im hoping to get some feedback for him from the trevs, daves, andys, mikes, adrs and jims etc on here or anybody else as to what repairs are possible. Ive included some pics to hopefully explain what i mean. Thanks guys!http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/...psa2eac425.jpg
