  • Anyone heard of a cue badged B & S Special?

Won a cue off ebay recently, and just seeing if anyone has heard of this maker?
Which brings me to my next question, there are three shaft woods it could possibly be made of,greenheart...steamed pear or hornbeam..
Pictures to follow, the shaft has small rings going all the way down like a maple shaft does, and has an orange colour much like steamed pear ,any cue experts can tell me the difference between the woods?
    thanks

First instinct would be steamed pearwood but I can't be certain. It could just be a ridiculous attempt at a fake B & W but I've never seen one like it before. Sorry to have not been much help haha :snooker:

Thats alright i thought it might be pear as the colour is the same,i guess having a knock about with it will give me a better idea! Have just cleaned it up and put a new tip on it so will see how it plays :-)

Bennett & Stevens (Sothampton) were trading as "B & S Services" in the 1970's. The badge might be one of theirs. Looks about that date.

Well had a knock with it,feels nice, but the shaft is pretty thick,in two minds as to replace the red fibre ferule with a brass one,as it is the ferule is 10mm,thanks for the info
