Burroughes-Watts-Burwat-Champion Cue

Remember reading somewhere that the 2nd edition Burwat Champion Cues had a front splice of Tulip Wood. The picture in this add doesn't look like a Tulip splice. Can anyone shed any light on the matter.

Depends on the wood used, tulipwood can vary a lot in its look depending on the piece of wood it was cut from, darker, lighter, more grain, less grain, etc.
