Cue on left single face snakewood thick venneer!
Cue on right four lower Indian rosewood thin white venneer!

Also must say to all that I'm treating this as a hobby as I've tried to make it as my living!
Far too much out lay involved and you constantly need too invest in wood!
Il be back in my taxi part time me thinks!
My pockets just ain't deep enough!
I'm in no position to buy all the exotics required to start taking on orders and
Can only afford bits and bobs!!
Anyway peace n love to the cue lovers.

    More beautiful work Raymond. .

Hobby thing will at least minimise the stress of trying to make a living at it.

Last thing you would want is to stop enjoying doing something that your

    obv very good at .

I think like many others you need a fair chunk of money behind you to make it as a full time living. Dan Shelton springs to mind! I think you are doing the sensible thing and your work will benefit for it in the long term should the opportunity arrise for you to do it full time again. Better to make a bit of money doing something when you feel like it rather than end up losing out like you did when that order wasn't paid for. I guess that had a lot to do with it?

Nice cues by the way, snakewood looks a beaut.

In a way yes! But these things happen.ive still managed to sell nearly all of the cues although its taken longer.
But that's not the main reason. The spending and investment is never ending.
I'm running an extension lead into my workshop from my Mums house which isn't ideal?
Also need a website which is long overdue.
And with the rent, bills and a good bit of debt I feel it's taking my enjoyment away.
I love it no doubt but I'm treating it as a hobby for now and working part time!
              Less pressure!
I know understand what the top makers have went through and they deserve every penny for there work.

Agree with you 100% I never did it for a living and always had a full time job.I had next to no competition thirty years ago but now is a different ball game as every bugger is selling cues.My first website I thought was really good but it cost a bit as I could do nothing whatsoever to it.The simple one I have from 1 & 1 is dead easy as even I can change items etc on it so it must be dead simple and it only costs £15 per month and I feel it is well worth it.Feel free to ask me about it any time.

Cheers Andy. My first goal is to clear my credit card first lol but I've seen that company advertise.
I'm very impressed with your website and good to see you back.

You are right about the costs raymond
Also i agree that the top reputable cue makers all justify there prices in my book, some dont charge enough
As for the credit card, thank @**? i dont have one anymore

i remenber owing £20,000 after biuldng my pool room and workshop, the cost of my last divorce didnt help at the time either !

We're kinda in the same boat I suppose but the work I've seen from you is superb and I know you
                      Will do well!
You have a unique style and its an art in my opinion.
If I make it my hobby I can enjoy it more and there's less pressure on me.
You and I both know how much the spending list goes on and on and on.
However if its gonna continue then I've decided to not worry so much about it and just invest when I can.
Keep your eyes peeled on Crispians work guys a true talent!!

There is a big difference between "a hobby" and "a job" !

i can remember when i made the cases as a hobby, i used to love it, it payed for my beer, my fags and all my pool comps
but when i finished my old job and it became my sole income i started to notice the costs more, and analized the hours ect, but thats because i did not realise that there was now my beer, my fags, my pool and the mortgage to pay for

Yeas there is a big difference mate but too much p on me to make ends meet and invest at the same time!
We both know how much has to go back into it, so il invest more whenever I can as a hobby!
If it becomes a good living later then il be delighted!
Last I was with Robert Osborne he had just spend 8k on exotics.
Also Trev and Mike will spend fortunes on wood!
Cheers also for the compliments guys.
