How can I erase scratches on the brass ferrule happening from shaping the tip? regards

Fine wire wool works a treat

I tape up the ferrule when changing the tip, stops glue getting on it and scratches, i use 0000 grade wire woll to polish it up. All tips i picked up on here

Don't go up and down! Just round and round
