  • oh no my cue broke

went to loosen my cue after playing today and the cue loosened but the joint stayed together, i tried tightening it up again but it just kept spinning(dont know if its on a thread) i superglued the shaft back on to the joint and managed to get it undone and it seems ok but it makes a tingy sound now and it feels like a slight shudder when i play, the hit just feels wrong, gutted, any advice ?

Send it to a doctor, will need to remove the super glue and re set the joint properly, i've used standard wood glue with some degree of success, never felt quite right though and started turning again before long.

I was afraid of that answer, i would probably be cheaper buying another than sending it away (its just a cheap ebay job but i liked it)i would love to buy a half decent one but i dont know what i want.

You can get stuff to dissolve the superglue yourself, but no idea how easy it is to use, or what damage it could do to the wood.
I started buying and selling cues on ebay, hoping to find "the one", don't tend to lose too much on them if you stick to buying quality, some real bargains to be had on craftsman cues at the moment for some reason.

If you can get the super glue off, some sort of Epoxy type glue would probably sort it out, it should be plenty strong enough. And the Ting sound is probably because the superglue has not contacted with all of the surfaces that need sticking, it's too thin for that.

Something like this might be good http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Araldite-I...item5aedaa6e3f

I have sent him an message offering to sort the cue for him free of charge. All he would have to pay is return postage.

That's a good offer mate if you don't manage to get it sorted, worth it if you like it. And even if it's a cheap cue a new one may not play the same as what you have.
