Do you live in the UK? If your worried about damaging it send it to a cue maker, pay them to do it, i have a couple of nice oil finished cues and i bought a bottle of cue oil from mike but in all honesty, i have no idea when I'll need to use it, just like having things before i need them.

If this cue is not important then go for it and experiment.. Thing is you could end up spending quite a few quid on all the materials, then still make a bit of a mess of your cue. Its better off in experienced hands because they have the skill and necessary equipment. Good luck :snooker:

I have a cue silk - good smooth, bad cleaning. Any suggestions how good cleaning? And what to do to cue shine? Cue Wax is good idea?

I suspect their custom sealant is some kind of varnish, and here is a link to an example of grain filler. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aurora-Ful...item3a7e7df599

They must be struggling to find the timber and/or can't wait for the wood to settle before production..
