  • Burwat Restore

A few months ago I bought this cue of eBay for £80.

I sent the Cue to Tony Glover to get restore and repaired

As you can see it is quite battered to say the least.

Current weight is 16.71, 10mm tip etc

Cue feels very well and plays very well, very stiff cue.
The cue has been completely restored from scratch, the wood below from the badge up 6 inches was starting to rot so this has all been replaced. Cue maybe for sale quite soon.

No all the splices had to be removed as all of them were lifting and cracked. So the cue from the butt up was replaced. The wood was also starting to rot towards the badge area that was all replaced and blended in.

That's a beautiful cue. I think the burr front splice improves on an already brilliant design. I'd be an interested buyer if I didn't already have a cue on its way with the same exact design (minus the Burwat Champion livery).
Oh, and that's a bad miss.

I'd like to know too, if I'm not being too forward. That's one of the coolest cues I've ever seen.

                    Well with the work.

Chopping 6 inches off the wood.
Re splicing new wood into the the exisitng wood.
                    Complete re-splice with black ebony.
Thuya front splice with the maple veneer.
                    Shaft straightened.
                    New badge.

I thought the price wasnt to bad. Then again the price of wood at present is up and nothing is coming down anytime soon.

                      Looks great to me . . .
My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
                      I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

That sounds pretty reasonable to me. Almost like starting from scratch with just a shaft.

Thats prettymuch what has happened, complete re-build.

                          Looks even better in person.
