Seriously, how can you wait two years for a cue to get done?? Especially for the price you pay it! Time to hire new people at the shop JP!!

I order my 1pc ultimate on july of 2011,at that tine the waiting time quoted was 40 weeks . Sent them an email last week, the told me the shaft is in progressing, it is very time consuming . But they didnt even let me know how long more i need to wait, instead they just ask me to refer to the website for the waiting time.

40 weeks?? Jeeez I would honestly tell them to f*** off! This is beyond ridiculous...I'd rather buy a second-hand JP or turn towards a lesser-known cue maker but at least I can get my good in a decent time.

It takes him a while to source the right wood he says but two years - wow - what business would not like that order book.

In a funny way it is kind of re-assuring when a cue maker takes a while as it means they have remained popular for a reason all these years no?

I do not think if you where a top 16 pro wanting a new cue he would have you wait that long - imagine it?

Phone rings in the Parris shop - John Parris is sat down at the front desk with his feet up and answers.

"Alright Parris me old sausage it's Ronnie here."

          "Who?"

"You know John - Ronnie the Rocket - now listen I aint got all ****ing day so please get a shuffty on and get me another one of those ultimates cos I just flogged me last one to that sado Fedda for 2 knicker! Bloody **** cue that one John! Could not win a soddin game with it."

"You mean the one that won you two world titles Ron?"

"Yeah that's the fella but I mean John who in their right mind would pay two grand for one of your Rods of iron?"

"Well Ron you know the ultimate range of cues are very popular -I have a two year waiting list you know and it takes me such a long time to source the -

"Yeah yeah - heard it all before John - listen John me old muckka -me old China pull the other one - I got to drop me running shoes off down the laundrette later so DO ME A FAVOUR you old silver fox and knock me one up for about half two will ya. Oh and have my commission ready too - or I'll do ya kapeesssh?"

          line goes dead.

          Something like that I'd imagine.

I seriously would harrass them all the time if I were you, get on their nerves so much that they get the cue out to you sharpish. Seems like unless you complain or pester that they think you are in no hurry for your cue so they just keep delaying. I bet it has worked for some who have taken this route.

I don't know of any other cue makers that work by this logic, whether its 1pc or 3/4 the waiting time should be the same IMO.
John told me it's because he has far more orders for piece cues which is the reason for that.

How long is a piece of string?? That would be the probable answer from JP.
You may defeat me but I will fight you to the very end!!!!

I think 2 years wait is not that bad. As these cue are handmade not by machine. Reason for longer wait for some customers is due to specific kind of shaft peoples want. its very hard to find the exact kind of shaft customer wants. And also demand is higher than production can meet. I personally also collect american pool cue. In pool cue world 2-3 years wait is minimum for most cuemaker. those top cuemaker some can go to 10 years wait after u deposit. I also had 2 Jpu order. order in last may when i visit john shop. i think he is a really nice guy. Like all of u , i am also cant bear to wait for my new Jpu status change . haha )
