  • Parris red glue too light for me

    Hi

Just bought a red glue Parris cue from Mike. Very nice cue but too light for me. Wondering if I can send it to parris cue and adjust the weight. It's now 17oz and want to make it 19oz. The shaft its a bit whippy and increasing this much weight could be a disaster. Can the balance point be where I want it to be? Anyone can give me some advice?

If I cant make up my mind I might sell it one day. Dont want to alter it as its a red glue Parris.

Also Im going to order 4 Ultimate but have no idear how long I need to wait. And any advice of ordering an Ultimate? I like solid cues I think you might know what Im talking about.

    Best regards
    Sam

They could alter weight no problem, and balance point should be somewhere near to what you want too.
Plenty of people on here to advise you on waiting times, but i remember people saying 18 to 24 months for a one piece Ultimate, maybe 12 months plus for a 3/4, why you buying 4 lol ????

17 to 19 oz change is quite a difference. I would suggest you go to a cuemakers which has cues to let you try out. Maybe parris themselves and try out to see whether a 19oz cue is suitable. Majority of cues are 17-18oz.

I used to like 18.5 but after playing with 17 (and a 16.5) for ages I prefer it. Took me a while to get used to it but I think it's better overall. How long have you given this Parris?

                  Got one question though...
Weren't you buying 56" cues before? How are you going to find the one to keep if all you've ordered is the wrong spec :?

Yeah I was Im using 55'' but these cues are very difficult to resell. Im looking for the feel of the shaft. Nice solid feel.

A 2 ounce increase seems a lot. You would then have a whippy bottom heavy cue. Not good! I here Acuerate cues are supposed to be designed not to throw off and are very stiff? Never tried one but I'm sure others on the forum might help you out there.

I spoke to John Parris this morning. Ultimiates take an age. He has to find the right material. He also a queue a mile long waiting for them. Depending on what materials you want it could take 18 months. i spoke to him about a stock cue being Taken to a 9mm from 9.5 and cutting down a half inch and He said 3-4 months!,,,, That's why people on Ebay want so much for them, it's not that they are worth that much, it's that the waiting time is ridiculous.
