        If it is Iroku it should have a resin or oily smell to it . Nice wood to work with but made my hands smell.

            Iroko is also known as 'b*****d teak' so yup, that would work. Although this can be said for lots of woods, make sure you wear a mask when cutting and especially sanding, Iroko is one of the fairly toxic woods and can causes rashes and irritate asthma etc but it's dense and very hard wearing, makes great work benches.

                Yeah iv read that, It does seem dry and brittle when planning so good advise thanks.
