  • Often stated - A good Player - Referring to a cue.

We often hear and see cues advertised as being a 'Good Player'

Although the answer to this question might at first appear obvious, What constitutes a good player in a cue?

Does one cue screw the ball back 4ft whilst another will screw it back 8ft? Providing the cue is straight has a decent tip and isn't split etc. Isnt it the skill of the user rather than the stick itself?

    opinions please......

A "good player" to one person will not necessarily play well for another person tho, so you can ignore that sales talk lol
Edit: and yes it's the skill of the player that makes the difference, altho the cue needs to suit you

Seen some fantastic players play with little more than a whittled down broomstick !! I know it aint the norm but it does demonstrate that its not always a good playing cue that produces !! Joe Davies played with a cue that looked like a banana !! Serious !! Plus he had ****ty balls lol

yeap id go along with this, stiff hit, rather than whippy. av had cues in the best when i have hit a ball they whould vibrate for some time afterwords. relating to it being whippy. but then again some people like this, i heard terry griffiths cue was like this and he didnt do bad did he. on the whole seeing peoples views on here, people like a cue firm rather than the latter.

A cue which gives good feedback through it, and doesn't throw too much!

I just thought it was an ebay phrase usually used to compensate for the fact that a cue is butt ugly, just like lovely personality or great sense of humour! Lol
