I Had a bad batch last week (beef n onion ) had to take a swifty to the Gents lol !!! Seriously though , I am seriously thinking of giving it a chance !! Now I know others have used it !!
I had a cue made with it by Andy Travis you really couldn't tell it apart from ebony I sold it to a member on here called too dark if I can find some pics I will put them up
If you look up "B&W Billiards and snooker services limited" page on Facebook, have a look at their currently in stock cues album in the photos. There is a very nice example on there! 4th cue along there are 3 photos.
African Blackwood is also thought to be the woods originally called ebony as far back as the Egyptians, that it's where the earliest recorded use of word ebony also originated.
It is also very tough on cutting blade which require constant sharpening while working it, and if you get a knarly bit with erratic grain you really have your work cut out. One of the top hardest woods in the world...

Ill see if I can sort something, but im ridiculously busy these days. It was actually a shaft from when I was trying my hand at cue making years ago, which i sent off to be spliced up into a cue by Craftsman Cues, with some Blackwood I'd acquired. I then subsequently had a decorative splice added along with a slight taper adjustment and re-finish by Robin Cook! So its been about a bit! I think I sent my last bits of blackwood to Andy Travis.
Sorry guys some of the pictures you posted , I couldnt load for some reason ?! but I may get some and give it a go I have a couple of minor repairs on my cues so I will all the info for a test lols
