  • Bumping bids up on ebay by the seller !!!

    I have been bidding on a nice cue ; Dunns Handmade 1 piece !!

    I bid on the cue from the start price £40

    Course I expected to be outbid , however ??

    By these accounts ;

    m***e (0)
    3***6 (15)
    u***u (2)

    Errr !!! I wouldnt of expected the seller ? to have made it quite so obvious that He/She or friend was bumping the price up ??? I like the cue but on principle maybe I wont bother !!!

      Hi , I dont know it was the seller , I was just curious about the 3 very similar accounts that have bid against me ?? For that reason I havent reported it , to me however , It just looks far too obvious !! You would see if you click on bids lol

        Why do you say the accounts are similar? If it's the *'s, it doesn't mean anything, user names are blocked out that way to potential buyers. ie the seller can see the full username just not buyers.

          I think our good friend was unaware of what the *'s denote.

            I never bid on anything until 8 seconds from the end of the auction.

                        Generally I just use the ebay max bid gimmick, seems to work fine.

                          I just don't see how using a sniper saves you any money at all, if i put in my max bid of say £200 from day one, and bidding stays low at say £90, there's no way a sniper wins for you unless you have set it above my max, which you don't know what that is !!!

                            true enough but it would prevent dodgy shill bidding.
